The Caesars Superdome has hosted the Super Bowl more times than any other venue. On February 9, 2025, the Big Game heads back for the eighth time, welcoming the champions of the AFC and NFC for a final showdown.
In a previous post, we divulged our favorite spots in the French Quarter. During Super Bowl weekend, that part of town will be packed like it’s Mardi Gras. That’s why we’d recommend Super Bowl visitors stay west of Canal Street. The crowds will be fewer, and you can stretch your legs on some of the city’s most beautiful blocks.

Easy Arrival
Looking to avoid the hubbub at Louis Armstrong International Airport? Private charter clients have a more convenient choice for arrival. Super Weekend of Events
Kendrick Lamar headlines this year’s Super Bowl halftime show, but he won’t be the only spectacle in town. A carnival-style parade is scheduled for February 8th at 10am, rolling through the French Quarter to the Warehouse District. The Louisiana Culture Festival takes over the French Market for a weekend of local dance, crafts, and music.
Comedians Bert Kreischer and Kevin Hart will both play huge venues. The Taste of the NFL is the big foodie fest of the weekend. You’ll be treated to a culinary whirlwind of the city’s finest restaurants, including Brennan’s, Dooky Chase’s, Dakar NOLA, and many more.
Meats to Please You
The Superdome crowns the city’s Central Business District. In the neighborhoods between the stadium and the river, a few meat-centric restaurants are standouts.
Cochon is your spot for Cajun classics forged in a smoky, wood-fired grill. Nibble on a selection of cured meats and fried boudin before splurging on a double-cut smoked pork chop. For a quicker, counter service sandwich, their sister restaurant, Cochon Butcher, focuses on charcuterie and sandwiches.
Closer to the stadium, The Company Burger griddles an excellent patty, but their fried chicken sandwich might be the best in town. Central City BBQ makes the best smoked meats in the city. Burnt ends are the specialty, but you can’t make a bad selection on this menu.
Brunch is serious business in New Orleans, and chef Nina Compton’s Compère Lapin is our top choice. Get the pimento cheese croque madame or the shrimp and grits.
Walk in The Garden
The Garden District is the best neighborhood in New Orleans for a leisurely stroll, even in the dead of winter. It’s a treat to marvel at the Greek Revival and French Colonial houses, many of which have famous owners, past and present. We also love riding the St. Charles Avenue Streetcar and hopping off whenever a restaurant or attraction strikes our fancy.
The Garden District Book Shop is known as a favorite of the novelist Anne Rice, whose Interview With The Vampire is New Orleans’ most famous literary depiction. It’s down the block from Commander’s Palace, the posh temple to Creole cuisine, that still holds up as one of the finest dining experiences in town.
Get in the Groove
There is no shortage of music clubs in New Orleans, but two on the west side of town bear special mention. Tipitina’s, on Tchoupitoulas Street, has been a popular concert venue since the mid-70s. It’s been the site of multiple live blues recordings, and its standing-room-only shows are the stuff of New Orleans legend.
The Maple Leaf Bar is a neighborhood dive that’s hosted performances by blues, jazz, and rock legends over the years. If you head out that way, go for crawfish étouffée at Jacques-Imo’s Cafe before the show and a nightcap at Snake and Jake’s afterward.
