“April is the cruelest month,” T.S. Eliot once wrote, “…mixing memory and desire, stirring dull roots with spring rain.”
If you feel yourself stirring, feeling that pang of memory and desire, perhaps you didn’t get away from your desk enough in March. Allow us to remind you: there’s still time to sneak in an early spring getaway.
Demand is currently high and availability is shrinking, especially on the weekends, so you should try to lock in your journey as early as possible. Our GVs seat up to 16, perfect for multi-family parties if you’re bringing along the whole crew.
Get out of the boardroom and into your board shorts and let GAC ferry you to one of these classic spring break 2022 locations:
Florida
The world-famous Barrett-Jackson Auto Auction (April 7 – 9) in Palm Beach is your prime opportunity to snag the collector car of your dreams. The Miami Beach Polo World Cup (April 29 – May 1) is the largest beach polo event in the world, where the glitterati and the fashion are just as much of a spectator sport as the polo. And you can always charter a yacht for an extra-deluxe day on the water.
Tulum and Cancun
There’s no wrong time to visit Quintana Roo, the beach-filled eastern side of the Yucatan Peninsula. There may be no better place on earth to swim in the magical waters of a cenote (Cenote Dos Ojos is a can’t-miss.) April also marks the return of the legendary Zamna Festival in Tulum, one of the world’s most renowned EDM showcases. The biggest names in the world of electronica play on stages spread over 11 hectares in the middle of the jungle, and a headliner plays every weekend of the month.
Cabo San Lucas
April is a busy season in Cabo, so make sure to secure reservations immediately. If the beach resorts are too crowded for your liking, rent a car and drive north to explore the natural splendor of the Sierra de la Laguna. This protected biosphere reserve is home to stunning landscapes off the typical tourist’s radar. Discover a little slice of paradise by hiking in Boca de la Sierra and hang out for happy hour afterward in the charming small town of Miraflores.
Late April can be the perfect time to travel to these locations because it’s in a favorable window: peak spring break travel is winding down, hurricane season in the Caribbean has not yet started, and daytime temperatures aren’t yet blazing hot. Still, it’s best to anticipate the worst: show up early and be prepared for delays because the weather is always unpredictable.
When you charter with GAC, our cabin staff can make you feel like you’re on vacation the moment you set foot on the airplane. Don’t wait until you’re in Mexico to start on the margaritas. Travel should be an extension of your holiday, so let GAC set the mood before you ever leave the tarmac.
