Sunny SoFlo is the place to see the finest watercraft this March.
The start of spring means boating season is back. If you’re in the market for a yacht or just dreaming about your next craft, head to Palm Beach, Florida this March for a weekend of boating inspiration.
The Palm Beach International Boat Show (PBIBS) takes place March 19 – 23 along the waterfront on Flagler Drive in downtown West Palm Beach. Over $1 billion worth of yachts and accessories will be on display, everything from 8-foot inflatables to 200-foot superyachts.
Global Air Charters is constantly traveling to South Florida. Our clients are reserving our airframes for travel to the Miami International Boat Show, the Daytona 500, and Major League Baseball spring training games.
The best way to arrive at PBIBS is with the convenience of a private jet, so contact our flight coordinators to reserve an airframe. Here’s how we’d spend the weekend in West Palm Beach.
Weekend On the Water
PBIBS has multiple entrances along the waterfront and the crafts will mostly be grouped into categories. The superyachts will be anchored together in Palm Harbor Marina and access to these slips is included with all tickets.
If you’re making a full day of it, we’d suggest getting Windward VIP tickets. These give you access to an exclusive lounge with an open bar, gourmet food, and other luxury activations.
For five-star lodging in Palm Beach, you can’t beat The Breakers. This century-old resort has perpetually defined Palm Beach’s opulent seafront.
Local Eats
For a quick lunch between boat browsing, we recommend Rocco’s Tacos and Tequila Bar on Clematis Street, one block from the Boat Show entrance. It’s now a chain spread across South Florida, but this is the original location. We go for table-side guacamole and birria tacos.
Another great lunch option is Mediterranean Market and Deli. They make outstanding hand pies — go for the lamb version or the spinach and feta — along with shawarma wraps, falafel, dips, and more.
For dinner, we like the moody steakhouse vibes at Palm Beach Grill. Across the intercoastal waterway from the festival on Palm Beach Island, it’s the spot for jumbo shrimp cocktails, wedge salads, and cold martinis. After dinner, The Honor Bar is their cozy next-door annex that is perfect for a nightcap.
If you’re craving seafood, then Seafood Bar at The Breakers is an excellent choice for dinner. It’s one of the best oceanfront dining spotsin all of Palm Beach County. Have a drink at the Aquarium Bar before a dinner of stone crab claws and lobster linguine.
Other Events and Attractions
The Palm Beach Modern + Contemporary Art Fair (March 20–23) is a must-visit for any serious art collectors attending PBIBS. In fact, your Windward VIP ticket gains you complimentary access to the Air Fair.
This is where you’ll find collectors, curators, museum directors, and designers flocking to secure exciting works available for acquisition. If you’re a fan of the international contemporary, modern, post-war, and pop eras, this is your dream gallery.
Art lovers should also take time to visit the Norton Museum. Important oil works from Edward Hopper, Georgia O’Keefe, and Jackson Pollack are among its permanent collection.
The 11th annual Wellington Bacon & Bourbon Festival (March 22–23) takes place the same weekend. This two-day party features artists and crafters, an eclectic menu of bacon-infused dishes, and 30+ bourbons and whiskeys for your tasting pleasure.
