A Day at the Races
A $30.5 million purse will draw the finest thoroughbreds from around the region. There will be nine races on the day, eight for thoroughbreds and one for purebred Arabian horses.
The racetrack has all the amenities you would expect for a grand showcase in Dubai. But if you’re looking for the best race day experience, several VIP packages and private suites are offered. You can book spots in one of their several on-site restaurants. These packages offer free-flowing champagne, multiple meal services, and the best views of the track.
Where to Stay
There are almost too many choices for luxury lodging in Dubai. The UAE is well-practiced in the art of hospitality, regularly catering to the world’s business and government elites. But to attend this race, a couple of options stand out.
The Meydan Racecourse grounds feature a five-star hotel. The Meydan Hotel offers views of the racetrack, a rooftop infinity pool, and a fully floodlit nine-hole championship golf course.
If you want to stay closer to the water, you can’t beat the iconic Jumeirah Burj Al Arab. It’s the Middle East’s most famous hotel for a reason. Enjoy Michelin-starred dining and unbeatable views of the coast.
Explore Dubai City
The Meydan Racecourse is set back from the city center, so make sure to venture into the heart of this extraordinary city. Take in the entire town from the observation deck on the top of the Burj Khalifa, the tallest skyscraper in the world. While you’re there, have dinner at Armani Ristorante, an exquisite Italian restaurant on the lower level of the tower in the Armani Hotel Dubai. Ask for a window seat to get views of the fountain.
If you can’t see it from your table, go to the Dubai Fountain after your meal to see water jets shooting 500 feet in the air to a choreographed musical spectacle. Then walk over to the adjacent Dubai Mall to browse outposts from over 200 of the most sought-after luxury brands.
