Copa América Final
The Biggest Soccer Tournament in the Americas Concludes July 14 in Miami
Some of the biggest names in the world of soccer, including Lionel Messi, Christian Pulisic, Vinicius Junior, and Luis Suárez, hope to guide their national teams to continental glory in Miami.
This year’s edition of the Copa América features the best national soccer teams in the Americas. They will battle it out over three weeks across the U.S., leading to the final in Miami on July 14.
The best way to make a glamorous entrance to the Copa América final is aboard one of Global Air Charters’ ultra-long-range Gulfstream airframes. We routinely charter to several airports in South Florida. Our flight coordinators can also arrange ground transportation to ensure a smooth transition from the runway to the game.

Copa América 2024: The Largest Field Ever
The Copa América is traditionally contested between the 10 national teams in the South American CONMEBOL conference. But for the 2024 edition, six teams from the North and Central American CONCACAF conference qualified for the tournament, too. They include the United States, Mexico, Canada, Jamaica, Panama, and Costa Rica.
One of the South American participants usually hosts the tournament. But for the second time ever, the 2024 honor of hosting duties falls upon the United States. The group stage matches begin on June 20, with defending champions Argentina facing Canada at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.
Copa América Final: Miami Gardens
The final will take place July 14 at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida. The stadium houses the NFL’s Miami Dolphins and the NCAA’s Miami Hurricanes and is encircled by the Miami International Autodrome, the home of the Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix.
We suggest arriving at Miami-Opa Locka Executive Airport (KOPA). It is a mere 10 minutes from Hard Rock Stadium and 35 minutes from downtown Miami.
The Best Food in Miami
There’s no shortage of incredible dining options in Miami, but we think at least one Cuban meal is non-negotiable. Savor the sights and smells along the famous stretch of Southwest Eighth Street, known locally as Calle Ocho, and stop at one of these iconic Cuban spots:
Get the classic Cuban sandwich at Sanguich De Miami, Cuban-style chorizo burgers at El Rey De Las Fritas, or ropa vieja at Cafe La Trova. Then finish off the meal with mojitos and live music at Ball & Chain.
After eating lunch on the street, try The Surf Club Restaurant for a memorable dinner. Run by legendary chef Thomas Keller (The French Laundry, Per Se), you’ll be treated to renditions of continental classics like beef Wellington, lobster thermidor, and avocado louie in the elegant seaside dining room.
Other Events That Weekend in Miami
While in town for the Copa América Final, there are two other events to put on your radar:
Fairchild’s Annual Mango Festival (July 13–14, 2024) is held at the Fairchild Tropical Botanical Gardens in Coral Gables which is home to one of the world’s most diverse collections of mango varieties. The gardens will host celebrity chefs, bartenders, live music, and dozens of food and drink vendors serving up every conceivable mango dish and cocktail. It’s the juiciest event of the South Florida summer season!
Florida Supercon (July 12–14, 2024) at the Miami Beach Convention Center is your chance to nerd out at South Florida’s largest convention for anime, gaming, comics, and pop culture. Stars like David Tennant (“Doctor Who”), Harvey Guillén (“What We Do in the Shadows”), and Vico Ortiz (“Our Flag Means Death”) will make appearances, among dozens of other actors, artists, and cosplayers.
