Welcome to Southern France

The French Riviera has limited options for arrival on a long-range jet like a Gulfstream V. The best choice for traveling to Cannes is Nice Côte d’Azur Airport (LFMN).

Nice is one of the busiest airports in France. If your operator doesn’t know how to navigate the busy periods, it can cause unnecessary delays. Global Air Charter has years of experience operating there — we ensure seamless arrivals and can have ground transportation waiting for you. Cannes is a beautiful 30-minute drive away from the airport.

Where to Stay

It is difficult, though not impossible, to find glamorous hotels near Cannes’ city center close to festival time. If you are planning your visit Cannes, Franceat the last minute, you might try staying somewhere else along the coast.

Fortunately, several luxury hotels and resorts are located along the Côte d’Azur just outside of Cannes. We suggest looking at hotels in Nice and Antibes for availability.

Le Negresco, in Nice, is one of our favorites. It delivers on that old-school European opulence you want in this region. We also dream about the Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc in Antibes. This palatial setting has incredible restaurants and a little more seclusion for a laid-back week on the beach.

Yes, We Cannes

If it’s your first time in Cannes, you need to start your stay with a stroll on the Boulevard de la Croisette. This gorgeous avenue along the bay hosts world-famous spots for shopping, dining, and sightseeing.

The old town of Cannes, called Le Suquet, has promontories that look out over the entire city. Find Meynadier Street and be rewarded with delis, canneries, confectioners, and more incredible local purveyors. Look for a grand orange building, the Forville market, where you can browse florists, fishmongers, and more. This is the place to try socca, the local favorite chickpea flatbread.

In keeping with the film festival spirit, reserve a table at La Palme d’Or. This Michelin-starred spot in the Hôtel Martinez has a menu written like a screenplay and illustrated with storyboards. It is no gimmick; however, the cuisine is meticulous and emphasizes local seafood.

Cruise the Bay

You can’t let a trip to Cannes go by without some time on the water. Take an afternoon to charter a yacht to Île Sainte-Marguerite, only 15 minutes from the shore. Visitors like to anchor their yachts and catamarans near the island to enjoy the peaceful turquoise waters and tranquil environment. It might be your best shot at meeting celebrities.
