The Amalfi Coast: Visiting this legendary stretch of Italian coastline is easy with a private jet charter
There may be no country on earth with a greater array of romanticized landscapes than Italy. The idyllic mountain hamlets on Lake Como. The surreal floating city of Venice. The gently rolling hills of Tuscany. It feels like a dream come true no matter where in the country you travel.
Add to that list, the Amalfi Coast, a collection of small villages along the Sorrentine Peninsula south of Naples. Much like the Cinque Terre in north of Italy, these towns are known for their picturesque setting. Pastel-colored houses nestle into the rocky outcroppings above the glittering gulf. Pristine beaches, world-class restaurants, and ancient wineries await visitors to these charming towns.

Here’s what you need to know to make the most of your stay on the Amalfi Coast:
Cleared for Arrival
The largest airport that serves the Amalfi Coast is Naples International Airport (LIRN), located north of the city and at least an hour’s drive from the town of Amalfi.
However, one of the greatest benefits of a private charter is closely tailoring your arrival to your ultimate destination. You may instead choose Salerno Costa d’Amalfi Airport (LIRI), which is slated to re-open in July 2024 after being closed for eight years.
The coast is notoriously difficult to navigate, with its narrow, twisting roads and dearth of public infrastructure. Some of our clients, therefore, choose to avoid the traffic altogether. We can arrange a helicopter charter from the airport to several of the most popular villages.
Positively Positano
It’s hard to pick a favorite town on the Amalfi Coast. But if we had to, it’s hard to do better than Positano. There you can take a sunset stroll along the dramatic cliffside and then amble through quaint side streets that smell of lemons and wisteria.
Spiaggia Grande is the main beach where jetsetters live la dolce vita. Just outside town, the Sentiero degli Dei (“path of the Gods”) lives up to its name. This stunning hiking trail offers some of the best views of anywhere on the coast.
For dinner, you can’t miss a meal at La Sponda. This elegant, candlelit restaurant is the most romantic on the coast. Savor grilled branzino to the gentle strains of a mandolin while gazing out over the town.
See the Arts in Ravello
Every summer, the Ravello Festival showcases the best of classical Italian performing arts. See orchestra, opera, and ballet performances among the gardens of Villa Rufolo and other gorgeous locations around town.
Taste the Terroir in Furore
If a winery tour is up your alley, we recommend navigating the switchback hills up to Furore and Cantine Marisa Cuomo. There you can taste their several amazing cuvées, including “Fiorduva”. This world-renowned white wine is made from local grape varieties grown on the impossibly steep terraces that overlook the ocean.
Walk With the Saints in Amalfi
Twice a year, the residents of Amalfi carry out a grand procession in honor of St. Andrew at the Festival of Sant’ Andrea, where you can witness a large statue carried by dozens of men out of the main church in Piazza Duomo. They process down to the seaside and call on the Saint’s blessing for the fishermen of this historic village. It’s a profound rite that brings the entire village out into the streets. It’s a wonderful opportunity for tourists to participate in a centuries-old local tradition.
