PGA Championship

The Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte welcomes the world’s best golfers this May.

The PGA Championship returns to North Carolina this year from May 15–18, 2025. Don’t miss this opportunity to see the greats of the game compete on one of the most pristine tracts in all American golf, the Quail Hollow Club.

Global Air Charters is ready to reserve a Gulfstream airframe for all your golf getaways. We’ve brought clients to see golf tournaments from Augusta to Abu Dhabi.

Our jets also have plenty of cargo space if you and some friends plan a golf trip. We’d suggest Pinehurst for its epic history, Bandon Dunes for stunning ocean views, and the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail to play multiple rounds in one day.

Contact our flight coordinators to charter a private jet to this year’s PGA Championship. Here’s your guide to the course and the surrounding area.

Arrival

Charlotte Douglas International Airport (KCLT) is the largest and most convenient airport for most travelers flying to Charlotte. If your lodging is further outside of the city center, then either Concord-Padgett Regional Airport (KJQF) or Charlotte-Monroe Executive Airport (KEQY) might be a better choice. Let us know your plans, and we’ll select the best destination for your itinerary.

We have two hotel recommendations, depending on your plans for the week. If you want to stay downtown, we like the Ritz-Carlton for its excellent amenities, including a cozy wine tasting room and elegant spa. If you choose to stay south of town, closer to Quail Hollow, try The Ballantyne.

The Course

The Quail Hollow Club is considered one of the finest golf courses in the Southeastern United States. From its stately Georgian-styleCharlotte, North Carolina clubhouse to its stylish bentgrass greens, the course exudes Southern charm at every turn.

It’s a lovely course to walk during tournaments. Its tree-lined holes offer plenty of shade, and elevation changes deliver interesting sightlines. On the weekend, you might want to stake out a spot on the course’s famous “Green Mile”. Holes 16 through 18 are a punishing conclusion to the round, especially the scary 17th — a 200-yard par 3 over the water.

There will be huge crowds following reigning PGA Champion Xander Schauffele and the number one golfer in the world, Scottie Scheffler. But our pick to win it is Rory McIlroy who loves playing Quail Hollow. He has won four tournaments there in his career.

See a Show

There are a ton of incredible music tours coming to Charlotte this May, so choose a night to take in some music after the golf. Shakira’s latest tour comes to the Bank of America Stadium on May 13. Sturgill Simpson is playing two nights at the Skyla Credit Union Amphitheatre, May 12–13, which will then host songwriter-rapper Teddy Swims on May 15.

Indie Rock legends Wilco come to the gorgeous outdoor amphitheater, The Amp Ballantyne, on May 15. Then, Billy Idol will rock the PNC Music Pavilion on May 16.

Elsewhere in Town

There are even more events in the Queen City during the PGA Championship:

Japan Fest (May 17–18) will be full of matsuri carnival games, Japanese food and drink, cosplayers, and karaoke.

Charlotte, North CarolinaThe 18th annual Beer, Bourbon, and BBQ Festival (May 17) will offer plenty of its three namesake items while listening to bluegrass bands in the park.

Cheerwine Festival (May 17) in nearby Salisbury will celebrate the homegrown cherry soda with food, entertainment, and all the Cheerwine you can drink.
