Sundance Film Festival 2025

In a snow-covered village high in the mountains, celebs and skiers attend the cultural event of the winter

Park City is an oasis in the mountains. Known as the best skiing city in Utah, it’s an alpine retreat with a fairytale downtown. And for one long week in late January, it becomes ground zero for the A-list.

The 2025 edition of the Sundance Film Festival takes place January 23 to February 2, 2025.

The mood will be electric and intimate. It’s a cozy small town coming together to showcase its community amidst all the glamorous visitors.

You might settle in for pancakes and a coffee and strike up a conversation with an avant-garde filmmaker. You can catch a matinee of the latest indie flick and then hit the slopes for an afternoon at one of America’s best ski resorts.

Global Air Charters will be flying weekly to Park City and all the skiing capitals of North America between now and Presidents’ Day. The most popular weekends fill up quickly, so contact our flight coordinators today to reserve your airframe now.

Here’s how to do Sundance in style:

Arrival Airport

Heber City Municipal Airport (KHCR) is only 20 minutes from Park City. It’s closer and less congested than Salt Lake City International Airport and provides seamless transfers to the festival. We can arrange ground transportation to navigate the snowy mountain roads.

Welcome to Park City

Temperatures will likely be in the low 20s to mid-30s °F (-6°C to 1°C), so plan for stylish but warm layers. Enjoy skiing or snowboarding at the renowned Park City Mountain Resort, or explore the nearby snowshoe trails.

Film Festivities

Sundance began as a showcase for small, independent films. It has since grown into one of the world’s most prestigious festivals. Films from “Little Miss Sunshine” to “Whiplash” first captivated audiences at Sundance, and its panels and selections continue to shape the face of modern filmmaking.

To catch festival showings, plan ahead. Tickets for screenings often sell out quickly, so book early via the Sundance website. A festival pass is ideal for die-hard fans, while single-screening tickets work for casual attendees. Arrive early to mingle with fellow movie buffs and ensure a good seat.

Main Street is the epicenter for afterparties. You can search in advance and RSVP for any of the activities the major brands will host all day long. The TAO pop-up is the gold standard for celeb sighting, with the likes of Malia Obama and Aubrey Plaza attending in recent years.

Where to Eat in Park City

Warm up your chilly bones with a shakshuka and coffee breakfast at Five5eeds. For a late launch, grab a Nashville-style hot chicken sandwich from chef Viet Pham at Pretty Bird.

Don’t miss a chance to taste the spirits made by the High West Distillery. They have a saloon in town and a distillery outside of town — either is a great location to enjoy some of the best rye whiskey in the U.S.

After a long day of skiing or moviegoing, settle into a leather chair for dinner at Tupelo. This fine dining mecca celebrates the work of artisanal food purveyors across the nation. Get the warm buttermilk biscuits with honey butter, pan-roasted Idaho trout, or the elk bolognese.

Stay or Ski

This luxury resort offers ski-in/ski-out access and impeccable service. After a day of screenings, unwind in the heated infinity pool or enjoy a decadent meal at RIME, the on-site fine-dining restaurant.
