Oktoberfest Worldwide Celebrations

Germany isn’t the only country to host a raucous autumn beerfest. Here are five other destinations to consider.

Grab your lederhosen and get ready to polka — it’s Oktoberfest season once again. The legendary fall festival is the biggest autumn party in Munich. There’s nothing like being under the big tent, hoisting a Maß glass, and singing along with the oompah band.

But the Munich fest is so popular that it’s become somewhat of a hassle to attend. Reservations are scarce and the crowds are as big as ever.

Fortunately, Germany isn’t the only place to celebrate Oktoberfest. The traditional harvest festival has spread worldwide, and you can get the full Munich experience on every continent.

Global Air Charters is your ticket to these stunning destinations. Our ultra-long-range airframes will make for seamless and relaxing travel to the Oktoberfest of your choice. Contact our flight coordinators to reserve your airframe today.

Here are our choices for the best Oktoberfest Worldwide Celebrations in 2024:

Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest (Ontario, Canada)

Dates: September 27 – October 19, 2024

The largest Bavarian-style Oktoberfest celebrations outside of Germany occur in Kitchener. The town has a centuries-old German heritage — it was even named Berlin until 1916.

The main portion of the festivities take place from October 11–13. Downtown Kitchener will transform into the Willkommen Platz, with beer gardens, German cuisine, and a vendor market. Several German clubs in town host their own festivities throughout the three-week celebration.

After the beer tents come down, stick around on Monday, October 14 to witness the Thanksgiving Day Parade. It’s Canada’s largest such parade and is broadcast nationwide.

Arrival Airport: Region of Waterloo International Airport (CYKF)

Oktoberfest of Blumenau (Santa Catarina, Brazil)

Dates: October 9 – 27, 2024

Since 1984, one of the largest Oktoberfest celebrations in the Americas has taken place in Southern Brazil. The city of Blumenau was founded in 1850 by a group of Germans and still has several traditional quarters decked out in Bavarian-style architecture.

Revelers at Blumenau Oktoberfest will descend on the Vila Germânica Park for sausage spaetzle, brats, and pork knuckles. Several parades will take the party into the streets. And it wouldn’t be a festival in Brazil without live music every night of the week.

Arrival Airport: Navegantes-Ministro Victor Konder International Airport (SBNF)

Kaiser Wiesn (Vienna, Austria)

Kaiser Wiesn boasts an impressive lineup of live music. There will be plenty of folk and brass, but also party rock and German electronica.

Arrival Airport: Vienna Schwechat International Airport (LOWW)

Oktoberfest Argentina (Villa General Belgrano, Córdoba)

Dates: October 4 – 6 and 11 – 14, 2024

Villa General Belgrano is a mountain village in the Córdoba province, whose Alpine qualities first attracted immigrants from Central Europe. Now, it’s home to microbreweries, chocolate shops, and Argentina’s longest running Oktoberfest celebrations.

Organizers have lined up several musical acts and traditional dance troupes to perform in the outdoor amphitheater at Bosque de los Pioneros. Local German-style breweries will serve up all the lager you can handle.

Arrival Airport: Ingeniero Aeronáutico Ambrosio L.V. Taravella International Airport (SACO)

Helen Oktoberfest (Helen, Georgia)

The longest-running Oktoberfest in the United States belongs to the charming hamlet of Helen, Georgia. This Bavarian-style village on the Chattahoochee River in Northeast Georgia is replete with half-timbered buildings and cobblestone streets.

The Helen Festhalle is the center of the festivities. You’ll watch traditional music while dining on platters of weisswurst and leberkäse. This area is known for its wineries, with several vineyard tours available. Autumn is also a perfect time for a hike through the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest to the breathtaking Anna Ruby Falls.
