Frieze London 2024

The world’s finest contemporary artists will be on display this October in the English capital

The must-attend event on the global art calendar is just weeks away. Frieze London, one of the world’s most prestigious contemporary art fairs, returns to The Regent’s Park from October 9-13, 2024.

The event’s curated selection reflects the up-to-the-minute pulse of modern artistry. For seasoned collectors and art enthusiasts alike, the fair offers unparalleled insights into the movements defining visual art in the 21st century.

Global Air Charters regularly charters clients to London. This year, we’ve already touched down for the championships at Wimbledon and the Salon Privé Car Show. Our knowledge of local airports and partners on the ground will ensure a seamless travel experience for your London holiday.

Here’s what to expect at this year’s Frieze London showcase. Contact our flight coordinators today to reserve your airframe.

Getting to Frieze London

London Heathrow (EGLL) is England’s largest airport, an international hub that’s one of the busiest in Europe. Arrival here could mean longer waiting times for takeoff and landing.

Customers might instead choose to arrive at London Luton Airport (EGGW) to avoid the congestion. Luton is one of England’s premier facilities for private jets. It has excellent amenities and services with quick and efficient transport into Central London.

London City Airport (EGLC) is even closer to the heart of town. Its private jet facilities are less extensive than Luton’s, however.

To visit Frieze London, you can catch a black cab or other car service to The Regent’s Park. You can also hop on the tube and take the Bakerloo Line to Regent’s Park Station.

What to Expect at Frieze London

The vast white tents will be filled with art dealers, curators, and art lovers of all stripes. You’ll see seasoned collectors looking to get an early grasp on the next big name. You’ll see celebrities and influencers soaking up the fashionable scene.

The art curated at Frieze London is dedicated entirely to living artists and boundary-pushing techniques. Expect thought-provoking pieces that challenge your perspective.

Frieze London will showcase work from 160 galleries from 43 countries. This year’s fair will receive a new floor plan, with solo presentations and emerging artists prominently displayed. This year’s themed section, Smoke, will present ceramic works that channel indigenous traditions into contemporary art.

There are also two more exhibits running concurrently in The Regent’s Park. Frieze Sculpture is a free, open-air showcase of 22 leading international artists. Frieze Masters offers a juxtaposition to the contemporary fair with a showcase covering thousands of years of art history.

While You’re in London

If you want to continue your artistic visit outside The Regent’s Park, you can find several other major exhibitions around town. The National Portrait Gallery will show Francis Bacon: Human Presence. The National Gallery has Van Gogh: Poets and Lovers, a collection of paintings and drawings from the Dutch master’s final years. The Royal Academy of Arts has a retrospective of Michael Craig-Martin, the influential British modernist.

Don’t miss the BFI London Film Festival 2024, running October 9–20 in various locations around town. You’ll have several opportunities to catch a showing of one of world cinema’s most groundbreaking new films.

Where to Eat and Stay Near The Regent’s Park

bottle of champagne, two glasses and delicious desserts on table in outdoor cafeLocated in a beautifully restored fire station in Marylebone, Chiltern Firehouse offers an exceptional local dining experience. The menu has a seasonal flare and does exceptional work with seafood and local produce.

While chicken tikka is the unofficial favorite dish of London, Trishna in Marylebone takes British-Indian cuisine to new heights. Their tandoori dishes are incredible, and their wine pairings elevate every plate.

There are several grand and luxurious hotels in the area. But we prefer the chic boutique feeling of the Charlotte Street Hotel. Located in Fitzrovia, a short stroll from The British Museum, its artistic sensibilities will perfectly complement your time at Frieze London.
