Experience the history, the beauty and the unforgettable challenge of the courses at Pebble Beach.
If you’re an avid golfer, like a few of us here at GAC, you appreciate the pedestal Pebble Beach, California, sits on as a top golf destination. Every year, golfers from around the world travel through Monterey or San Francisco to play one or several iconic courses at Pebble Beach.
Four of the seven courses are open to the public, and Pebble Beach Golf Links is by far the most iconic. The course hosts PGA Tour events every season and was the first public golf course named by Golf Digest as the No. 1 Golf Course in America.
No matter which course(s) you decide to play on your tour of Pebble Beach, here is why we’re excited to be there with you this summer:
17 Mile Drive: The Gateway to a Legendary Golf Outing
“The beauty is unsurpassed, and so is the drama created by so many thrilling, famous holes. No golfing life is complete until you’ve experienced Pebble’s coastline, following in the footsteps of Nicklaus, Watson and Woods and an untold number of everyday dreamers.” – Alan Shipnuck, Sports Illustrated.
Part of Pebble Beach’s allure is the picturesque journey along 17 Mile Drive. With stunning views of Carmel Bay and the Monterey Peninsula, this drive is a must-take for the complete experience. There are several starting points to choose from along the scenic route. We suggest beginning on the north side at The Links at Spanish Bay. Follow 17 Mile Drive southbound along the coast to end at the legendary Pebble Beach Golf Links. If you plan to play golf at The Links at Spanish Bay, start at Pebble Beach Golf Links and work your way north.
Lodging at Pebble Beach: 5-Star Hotels
While many hotel options are just outside Pebble Beach, we wanted to share the best two experiences. Staying at one of the golf course hotels offers the most amenities and dining options, not to mention that you’re footsteps away from one of the world’s best golf courses.
Casa Palmero is, without a doubt, the pinnacle of a world-class hotel experience. Everything about Casa Palmero gives the sense that you are right at home. If you plan on hitting the Pebble Beach Golf Links, then Casa Palmero should be your number-one choice.
The Inn at Spanish Bay is another option for an elegant hotel stay at Pebble Beach. The modern style and layout are designed with understated yet discerning taste. If you like a suite with beautiful coastal views and a modern appeal, then we think you’ll enjoy The Inn at Spanish Bay. After a round there, take their complimentary executive shuttle to the other golf courses in the area.
How to Play the Courses at Pebble Beach
Getting to Pebble Beach is far less complicated than booking a tee time. If you’re staying at The Inn at Spanish Bay or simply want to play a round there. You can book your tee time up to six months in advance. Many people come to Pebble Beach to play the Pebble Beach Golf Links, and those tee times can only be booked one day in advance — which makes it tricky if you’re golfing with more than two players. The hotels at the golf courses offer the best stay-and-play packages that make your entire Pebble Beach experience as relaxing as possible.
Pack your clubs, and we will prepare your jet for your legendary Pebble Beach adventure this summer.
