Now You Can Buy Airline Tickets with Cryptocurrency
In April, Global Air Charters began accepting Bitcoin as a form of payment for charter flights.
Cryptocurrency as Payment
El Salvador made global headlines in September 2021 as the first country to accept Bitcoin as its official legal currency. This step forward is a signal of the continued adoption of many countries and businesses to accept cryptocurrency as payment.
As cryptocurrencies continue to gain acceptance, so has the public’s trust in using them to pay for goods and services. Global Air Charters (GAC) has accepted its first Bitcoin payment for a charter flight using a new payment processing provider (PSP). The goal is to meet the diverse needs of its clients. Furthermore, the PSP makes it easy for travelers to buy airline tickets with cryptocurrency.
Currently, GAC only accepts Bitcoin as a form of cryptocurrency payment but is evaluating well-established cryptos, Litecoin, and Ethereum as a form of payment.
Looking ahead, GAC is working to identify strong emerging cryptocurrencies that will also be accepted as payment methods. Numerous other cryptocurrencies are gaining popularity. Currently, none are as secure as Bitcoin, Litecoin, and Ethereum. As GAC incorporates different forms of crypto-payment acceptance, GAC is determining its long-term value before offering it as a payment option.
As the world changes and cryptocurrencies become commonplace. In the future, GAC will be making it a goal to accept these alternative forms of payment.
